The International Research Mentorship Programme was recently introduced in 2018 to encourage students in Newcastle University and Chinese University of Hong Kong with research experience to teach basic concepts in conducting research to a small group of 1 to 2 students, following through from start to end (publication and presentation of a research project). While the research project has a senior researcher, mentor-students and students develop skills and self-reliance through a peer support model.
